Don’t Honor Antisemites

Express Your Concern at Ben & Jerry's Honoring Anti-Semite Linda Sarsour

Ben & Jerry’s recently launched a a new flavor promoting a number of groups, including the Women’s March.

While we commend Ben & Jerry’s commitment to social justice, we are concerned that rewarding the current leaders of the Women’s March shields them from accountability for their ties to Louis Farrakhan and other problematic stances. For example, Linda Sarsour recently said that trying to humanize Israelis is, “a problem,” and blamed the ADL for American police killing unarmed black people. Such rhetoric has no place in any progressive or social justice movement.

Ben & Jerry's

Dear Ben & Jerrys

I commend you for your commitment to some of the most important social justice issues we face today.

At the same time, I am concerned that rewarding the current leaders of the Women's March shields them from accountability for their ties to Louis Farrakhan and other problematic stances. For example, Linda Sarsour recently said that trying to humanize Israelis is, "a problem," and blamed the ADL for American police killing unarmed black people. Such rhetoric has no place in any progressive or social justice movement.

I deeply appreciate that you have resisted past efforts to drag your company into the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I hope you will exercise similar wisdom now and condition your partnership with the Women's March on its leaders issuing an unequivocal condemnation of Louis Farrakhan and apologizing for their highly offensive statements about Israelis and the ADL.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
