PUT AN END TO UNRWA INCITEMENT!
Over 240 US-government-approved textbooks that promote violence against Israelis and encourage martyrdom have been used in Palestinian schools sponsored by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). The hate mongering doesn’t end there. UNRWA employees have been promoting the “stabbing of Zionist dogs” on social media with impunity, and summer camps organized by UNRWA have been found to promote Jihad and terrorism.
This incitement has to end.
The United States is the largest single donor to UNRWA, and cannot remain complicit in funding and supporting inciting curriculum, which poisons the minds of children, perpetuates conflict and bloodshed, and put the lives of both Palestinians and Israelis at risk.
We ask you to stand with us in opposing incitement and hatred.
PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION:
We, the undersigned, demand that the United States remove from its “approved” list some 240 Palestinian Authority school textbooks used in hundreds of United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)-sponsored schools. These books incite Palestinian children between the first and ninth grades to kill Israelis and sacrifice themselves as “martyrs” to destroy the State of Israel and evict the Jews.
The incitement to violence can be found in subjects ranging from civics to mathematics in over 400 UNRWA schools in the West Bank, Gaza and eastern Jerusalem. The textbooks glorify war and terrorism while indoctrinating thousands of Palestinian children to hate Israel and Jews, to prepare for war, and to spurn peace. There are three themes in the text books: the delegitimization of Israel; demonization of Israel and Jews; and the denial of Jewish holy sites anywhere in the Holy Land.
By approving these textbooks, the United States is complicit in the undermining of peace and to the polarization between the two peoples.
We call upon the United States to undertake a serious and thorough review of all the Palestinian Authority textbooks currently being used in UNRWA schools, and to call upon the Palestinian Authority and UNRWA to stop using these books immediately.
