"NANO IS GREEN" IS THE MESSAGE OF A 5-DAY NANOTECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY THE STANDWITHUS FELLOWS FROM BAR ILAN UNIVERSITY TO BE HELD 19-23 JUNE.  

EUROPE'S TOP STUDENT SCIENTISTS WILL LEARN ABOUT ISRAEL'S CONTRIBUTIONS IN NANOTECHNOLOGY AND ENJOY HER RICH CULTURE 

(Tel Aviv, Israel) -- A five-day, nanotechnology, green energy conference that combines academic lectures and trips to Nano- technology facilities, as well as educational  trips to unique sites and nature reserves in Israel will be held 19-23 June at Bar-Ilan University.  "Nano IS Green Conference," is organized by the twenty students from Bar-Ilan University who are part of the StandWithUs Fellowship, now in its fifth year.  www.nanoisgreen.com and http://standwithus.co.il/fellowship/

Sixteen award-winning students from all over Europe - young nanotechnology scientists and tomorrow's leaders - will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn about Israel's contributions and achievements in finding nanotechnology solutions for creating a greener world, while building international partnerships.  "Nano IS Green" Conference is in partnership with the "Bina" center for Nanotechnology at Bar Ilan University in Tel Aviv.  The guest speaker is Prof. Emeritus Robert J. (Yisrael) Aumann of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, co-winner of the Nobel Prize in economics for 2005.  In adition to lectures from experts, there is three-day trip to Israel's state-of-the-art green nanotechnology facilities and to enjoy the small country's diverse culture. 

Frederik Hetsch, a PHD student from Germany, wrote: "I have been following research in Israel for quite a while now especially in the area of nanoscience and semiconductor physics. For me the Nano IS Green conference will be a great opportunity to meet Prof. Zaban ( Head of Bar Ilan Institute of Nanotechnology & Advanced Materials) and other scientists in the nanoscience area from different countries and backgrounds in person.  I am also very interested in learning more about Israel, and specifically to understand more about the horrible past that ties Israel and Germany together. For me it will be my first trip to Israel. With my personal and scientific background, I am confident that I will contribute to this conference".

StandWithUs Israel Fellowship: 

Now in its fifth year, the StandWithUs Israel Fellowship brings together 150 of Israel's elite students from six major Israeli universities and trains them to be effective global ambassadors for Israel and to assume leadership roles in Israeli society.
