MEET BRITAIN’S NEXT-GEN ISRAEL AMBASSADORS
LAUNCH OF STANDWITHUS UK FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME
StandWithUs UK is proud to announce the launch of its first British Fellowship Programme. The Fellowship comprises of Jewish and non-Jewish British student leaders from 11 major campuses in the UK (Cambridge, Oxford, UCL, LSE, Kings, SOAS, Goldsmiths, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and York). The participants will take part a programme to empower them and give them resources to be more effective pro-Israel leaders on campus and in the community.
Students will participate in a one year intensive programme that will include hands-on training by top experts, lectures by world renowned scholars in the field of Middle East Affairs, and training workshops to develop these young leaders to meet the challenges they will face in their new role on campus. Fellows will be supported to combat anti-Israel rhetoric on campus. The Fellowship will include an intensive study visit to Israel including field trips to some of the most controversial sites in public debate about Israel. StandWithUs Fellows will work closely with existing organisations on universities and will look to build relationships with groups and individuals within their regional area to create proactive events as well as responding to anti-Israel activity.
The StandWithUs Fellowship already exists in both Israeli and US campuses and has proven to be exceptionally successful. The UK Fellowship will be the 3rd global StandWithUs Fellowship Programme, and the UK Fellows will be in close contact with all international Fellows.
Upon completing the one-year Fellowship, the students will join the international StandWithUs Alumni Network, through which they will be given the opportunity to exercise and maintain the skills and abilities they have acquired through the Fellowship. Our Alumni will form an incredible networking resource, which will remain with them into their professional careers.
These are exciting times for StandWithUs UK as the Fellowship represents a significant investment in youth leadership. This is a diverse group of dedicated young people whose common factor is a desire to promote the real face of Israel.Their undoubted talents and enthusiasm will go a long way to help us change the negative perception that far too many people, particularly students, are being fed about Israel.
